acid cigars Banana and Sprite Challenge What Happens In Your Stomach

Just a little experiment I did showing what happens in your stomach during the banana and Sprite Challenge. The theory is that a person cannot eat two bananas and drink a certain amount of Sprite without vomiting. The amount of Sprite ranges from 12 fluid oz. or 355ml to a full liter. The possibility exists that a chemical reaction could be occurring as bananas contain Potassium though some other foods do as well. Potassium is similar to Sodium and thus Sodium Citrate and Sodium Benzoate could be forming a replacement reaction. Too much Potassium Chloride is very toxic. It is common knowledge that Potassium Citrate can be formed by introducing Citric acid which is an ingredient in Sprite with Potassium Carbonate or Potassium Bicarbonate and you will create much gas. Another theory is that the surface of the banana acts like the surface of a Mentos and thus will release CO2 from the soda. The results showed that the Sprite quickly fizzed up into a frothy foam that took time to dissipate and the bananas formed a gel. It is possible that the foam tricks the stomach to think it is more full than it actually is. The introduction of vinegar to mimic a stomach acid did not alter much of anything.
